HMIME Chapter 30: Can Mutual Affection Be Possible?

Bai Lu couldn’t understand how Chu Ya had such an affinity with Aunties. Even though his mother had passed away at the young age of thirty-three in her previous life, she now treated Chu Ya as if he were her son-in-law, enthusiastically recounting embarrassing stories from Bai Lu’s childhood.

Bai Lu, the real son, stood alone, seething with anger.

He wanted to expose Chu Ya’s sinister and terrifying true nature, but he lacked the ability to do so and feared upsetting his mother. He didn’t even dare to reveal Chu Ya’s true identity.

So, he could only squat angrily at the threshold, arms crossed, watching outside with pent-up frustration.

When Chu Ya heard Bai Lin finish recounting a story about Bai Lu wetting the bed at eight years old, he turned his head and saw Bai Lu squatting gloomily at the door, curled up like a mushroom on the threshold, which he found adorable.

Unable to resist smiling, Chu Ya walked over and ruffled Bai Lu’s hair. “Why the temper tantrum? Isn’t it a good thing for mother and son to reunite?”

Bai Lu coldly snorted, “She’s practically become your mother-in-law.”

“Considering our relationship, there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Although Chu Ya said so, he couldn’t help but think of his biological mother.

She had a radical and extreme personality, prone to hysterics, but she genuinely loved her only son. She had been his only solace in this cold aristocratic family. Chu Ya hoped she would soon overcome the pain of losing her son and see through the true nature of the Shen’s, seizing the opportunity to start a new life.

Regaining his focus, Chu Ya asked, “So, what do you plan to do now? Do you want Auntie to stay in the palace with you?”

Bai Lu nodded. Actually, what he wanted most was to leave the palace with his mother, engage in some business outside, and live a peaceful life. If he could find a considerate stepfather for his mother, that would be even better.

But Chu Ya wouldn’t let him leave, and his current grandfather probably wouldn’t allow his precious seventeen-year-old daughter to go with a “strange man.”

Sighing at his own incompetence, Bai Lu redirected the question to Chu Ya. “What do you think?”

“I’ll order Auntie to stay in the palace with you.”

Just as Bai Lu was about to thank him, he suddenly remembered the conversation among those girls earlier. His face changed instantly, alarms ringing in his mind.

He stood up abruptly, glaring at Chu Ya as if facing a mortal enemy. “I warn you, don’t you dare have any ideas about my mom! Even though my mom is a beautiful girl now, she’s still my mom! If you dare, if you dare…”

Chu Ya: “What nonsense are you thinking?”

Sometimes, he really wanted to open Bai Lu’s skull and see what kind of magical brain circuits were inside.

Anyway, after the Qingming Festival, Chu Ya found a reason to place Bai Lin in the harem.

When Bai Lu heard the news, he was struck as if by lightning, thinking that his despicable ex-boyfriend had suddenly become his stepfather. He was so angry that he almost fought him.

Helpless, Chu Ya held his wrist and restrained his fist, patiently explaining, “Not everyone in the harem is a concubine. Technically, the harem is just the palace compound north of the palace, where consorts, princesses, and palace maids reside. It’s more convenient for your mother to stay there.”

Bai Lu thought about it and found it reasonable. His mother was so beautiful now. If she lived with a man, she would surely be targeted by bad people. Living in the harem would not only be safe but also allow her to make a few girlfriends and enjoy tea and flowers together.

Satisfied with the arrangement, Bai Lu was about to withdraw his hand when he realized that Chu Ya was still holding it. Bai Lu struggled a few times, feeling annoyed. “What are you doing, let go!”

“Don’t worry, I just want to hold you.”

Chu Ya pulled him into his arms, using one hand to prevent Bai Lu from kicking, and used the other to caress his hair and back, softly saying, “I’m really happy that you and your mother are reunited. Does that mean you don’t hate me as much now?”

Bai Lu’s expression froze, seemingly lost in deep contemplation.

He looked into Chu Ya’s eyes, trying hard to recall reasons to hate him. But instead of hate, memories of their tender moments flooded his mind.

When he was alone, battered and bruised after coming down from the ring, returning home to find a warm yellow light shining in the spacious living room, always with someone waiting for him.

Chu Ya would worry about his safety and advise him not to compete anymore. He would try his hand at cooking utensils he had never touched before, carefully prepare gifts for him on holidays, patiently explain professional knowledge to him, and comfort him with gentle touches when he was sad or emotionally overwhelmed.

If he ignored the grudges of the past generation, Bai Lu could clearly say that Chu Ya was a perfect lover, someone no one could resist.

Chu Ya was still waiting for his answer, asking again, “Do you still hate me?”

Bai Lu turned his head, unwilling to give a direct answer.

Annoyed, he pushed Chu Ya’s waist with his knee. “Stop talking nonsense. Are you going to do it or not? If you can’t, then I’ll do it myself. I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time!”

Chu Ya was taken aback for a moment, then realized what Bai Lu meant.

He was overjoyed, a strong smile appearing in his eyes as he repeated, “Really? Are you really willing? Bai Lu, give me a definite answer!”

Bai Lu, feeling irritated, said, “Hmph, do it or not, I’m leaving!”

Chu Ya immediately held him back. “You’re not allowed to leave.”

Then, he kissed him affectionately, slowly untied Bai Lu’s sash, and pulled down his thin silk clothes, revealing his fair chest and abdomen.

After Bai Lu’s relentless training during this time, his body had become much healthier. Compared to before, when he was thin and weak, he now had a well-proportioned figure, slender and white-skinned, igniting the primal desire in men almost instantly.

It had been a long time since Bai Lu and Chu Ya had willingly done something like this together, and Bai Lu felt a bit restless. He abandoned the remnants of his rationality and followed his body’s instinct, reaching out to grab Chu Ya’s arm, intending to kiss him. But just as he was about to do so, he heard the anxious voice of the eunuch outside the door.

“Miss, oh my, Miss, you can’t go in now. Someone, hurry and stop her…”

Bai Lu was startled and turned to look, only to see Bai Lin standing at the door, holding onto the door frame, with a sly smile on her face. She waved her handkerchief playfully and said, “Don’t mind me, continue.”

Bai Lu: “…”

Continue? Bai Lu felt like he would never be able to perform again!
